Erected in the direct path of the wildebeest migration across the Serengeti Plains, Keekorok Lodge was the first to be built in the Masai Mara National Reserve when it opened in 1965. Over three decades on, it remains a favourite.
There are 101 luxury suites and guest rooms housed in stone-built bungalows with private balconies and en-suite bathrooms. Now a member of the Wilderness Lodges group, there are no fences around the grounds and it’s not uncommon to see elephants and buffalos wandering through. Start the day in style with a hot-air balloon flight with a Champagne breakfast. And finish the day in the thatched sundowner bar, which sits above a pool of resident hippo. |
