Bordering the Chobe National Park, the King’s Pool Camp (a Premium Wilderness Camp) overlooks the oxbow-shaped King’s Pool Lagoon, with the Linyanti River to the north.

Accommodation in gorgeous tented rooms is rated by some as the most luxurious in all Botswana. There are nine tented rooms under cool thatch, overlooking the hippo-filled lagoon. Each of the new suites has its own large bedroom area, lounge, private plunge pool and a sala. Each en-suite bathroom is tiled, with double showers, two hand basins and a separate flush toilet and an outdoor shower. The lounge, dining room and pub are under thatch and there is a swimming pool and an open air kgotla for dining under the stars.

The reed and papyrus swamps here provide an ideal habitat for numerous and diverse species of birds, but the area is also noted for its very large elephant population. Other game such as impala, kudu, zebra, sable, lions leopard cheetah and wild dog is abundant. The camp’s underground hide is one of the highlights, allowing close-up viewing of game down by the waterside.
