A member of the famous Governor’s Camp group, Loldia House is your chance to experience the Kenya of old, settler style. The original character of the house remains.
There’s a choice of four en-suite double rooms, with original furniture, plus three more rooms in the specially-built Loldia cottage (which has its own sitting-room, fireplace and panoramic lake views). Comfy chairs surround a huge fireplace in the main house, and there’s a deep and shady verandah with sunbed’s in the garden. Delicious meals with fish and shrimp from the lake are served under the trees or in the old colonial dining room. Loldia ranch was established by a family who trekked by ox-wagon from South Africa a century ago. Today their descendants still own the land. It’s an ideal spot to relax, taste the pleasures of Kenyan country life and explore the Great Rift Valley. No visit to this area is complete without a trip to the pink flamingo lakes of Nakuru, Elementaita and Bogoria, one of the greatest spectacles in Africa.
