Rated as a Classic Wilderness Camp, the Skeleton Coast Camp offers six luxury canvas tents in the heart of Skeleton Coast Park, one of the planet’s most inhospitable, but hauntingly beautiful places. It is wild and desolate.

Built on an island in the dry Khumib riverbed, each of the 6 tents is raised on wooden decks, incorporating local materials into the furnishings. Spacious en-suite bathrooms include flush toilets, hand basin and showers. Meals are served in the open-air ‘dining room’ under an ancient landwood tree.

Sand dunes, salt pans, seal colonies and sun-bleached shipwrecks await. Wildlife sightings include springbok, gemsbok, the rare desert elephant, Cape fur seals, brown hyena, jackal, ostrich and occasionally even cheetah, lion, zebra and giraffe.
